corona and who to blame

It is because the anti-Bibi crowd insists on its "democratic" right to protest the election results that the government has had to also give in to the religious who insist on their right to pray in collective. And it is because of these rights being upheld that the Arabs and Haredim insist on their "right" to hold large weddings. I agree that the public has the right to demonstrate, but I also think if we had a referendum, a large majority of the population would have asked the government to ban demonstrations until after the Coronavirus will have been brought under control. After all, if the choice is between a lockdown and the right to demonstrate, I have the feeling most of the public would vote against demonstrations now. Of course, those who insist on their right to demonstrate even during a pandemic (something I find ridiculous) would argue that the referendum was tainted because those who would oppose demonstrations are the same voters who put Bibi into Balfour in the first place. Were demonstrations banned, however, either with a referendum or without, there would be no need to appear to be evenhanded and allow prayers in closed places or in large outdoor spaces where rules of social distancing and masking are not followed. It would be much easier to supervise adherence to the rules against collective gatherings. But, our government -- and Bibi, master politician that he is -- seem to be powerless in face of certain issues. And this is not a time for our elected officials to demonstrate weakness.I do not understand what is necessary to get the better of this virus, especially given all the arguments in public on the part of the experts, but I do understand that demonstrations are absolutely not necessary at this time. Are the demonstrators children who cannot delay gratification? Why can they not see that now is not the time? Let them write social media posts, let them put videos up on the social media, let them publish articles in Haaretz... just do not let them onto the streets in hoards (even within one km of their homes as will be ridiculously allowed during the full lockdown)! So who do I blame for bringing this lockdown upon us? I blame the weak-kneed government for not banning ALL public gatherings, I blame those inciting the demonstrators to get out on the streets, I blame the demonstrators who heed the call, I blame the Haredi leadership who does not seem to understand that saving lives comes before praying in a minyan, I blame each and every individual who attended a mass wedding during this time....I blame you all for thinking that your democratic right to demonstrate, pray in a minyan, attend a wedding trumps the democratic rights of all nearly 9 million of us to life, to employment, to dignity and not having to hide out hoping it will pass over the entrance to our dwellings. I would really just rather blame the virus than all of them.
