Hebron Foils Breaking The Silence Propaganda

On a tour of Hebron in Hebrew run by Breaking the Silence we were graced with a new approach to the problem with Judea & Samaria, or perhaps the approach tailored for Israelis. Of course, they don't call Judea & Samaria by its real name; they call it "The Territories" or "The West Bank". Breaking the Silence used to come down on the army, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). They let that go. I guess they decided it was working against them to try to vilify Israel's sacred cow, especially to Israelis. Of course, Ido, our tour guide, did tell us stories of how, as a soldier, his unit would randomly torment Palestinian families just to make sure they did not forget who is boss. He made it seem as if security issues are just a convenient excuse for harassing the innocent Arabs who now call themselves Palestinians. But it was not the IDF's fault, he emphasized, it was the government's fault. The government has a policy of making life so unpleasant for the Arabs of Hebron that they will decide to leave the city, meaning that more is available for Jews to take over.
