2023-24 War against Hamas and Hezbollah

Vivian Silver: Best way to honour a leftist killed by Hamas is . . . .

Pardon me for my cynicism in this post. Dexter van Zile, a journalist and editor focusing on Western Islamism, paid US$50 to attend a Muslim gala promoting Hamas, Jew hatred, Israel boycott, and raising funds to expand their premises so that they can incite against Israel to a larger audience. Of the event, Zile wrote:
Instead of an honest assessment of Hamas's brutality, the ideology that motivated it, and the war it precipitated, the speakers at this gala implicitly offered a dishonest and nostalgic narrative of how good life would be for Jews in Muslim-majority settings if only they had accepted their inferior status under Islamic rule. The message was that by insisting on being sovereign, Zionist Jews had invited and justified all manner of violence against them since Israel's establishment in 1948. Even being a stalwart peace activist, like Vivian Silver, is not enough to protect Jews in Israel from this violence.
Yes, even being a "stalwart peace activist, like Vivian Silver" was not enough to protect her and her peacenik peers when al-Aqsa flood rampaged across the Gaza Envelope. Perhaps some of those Hamas terrorists and just normal civilian Gazans who tortured, slaughtered, and kidnapped Jews (and others) were even met at a checkpoint and driven to an Israeli hospital for medical treatment by some of those same Jews that they maimed, killed, and abducted. Certainly Silver was one of these. In honour of her memory, Rabbis for Human Rights held an event in the Negev.
Today in Wadi Atir, in the Negev, we were honored to host a Planting Justice event with many local partners.
The Olive trees were planted in what will become a community garden, honoring the Bedouin lives lost in this terrible war.
The planting event was held in memory of our friend and inspirational colleague Vivian Silver z"l who was murdered on October 7th.
Vivian was the founder of the Negev Institute for Coexistence, and a founding member of Women Wage Peace. May her memory be a blessing, and may we continue her commitment to peace, equality and justice!
Silver is no longer here to voice her opinion on such an event. It is one thing to plant trees in honour of Bedouin Israeli lives lost in this war. It is quite something else to suggest that they know what
