International Academic Journal Turns Israel into Palestine

If you are a computer or electrical engineer, you may have come across the International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It ranks about mid-range among journals in that field, meaning there are likely as many journals ranked below as above this one. That makes it a not totally unattractive journal to which to submit articles that have been rejected by the more elite publications. The editorial board is truly international, with its editor-in-chief hailing from Poland and manuscript reviewers coming from Malaysia, Turkey, China, India, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, and more. Most of the reviewers from Canada, the United States, and the UK have Moslem names. This should not matter when it comes to political issues because scientific publications (like sports) are not supposed to be political. However, like for so many Jew-haters, it appears that the name, Israel, just sticks in the caw of the authors of the article under examination here, and likely for the editorial board as well. Other than referring to the Israeli electric company, Israel did not appear in the article even when it would have been expected. Entitled, “Practical electrical energy production to solve the shortage in electricity in palestine and pay back period,” the authors suggest an investment in wind energy in Gaza. The very first line in the article states that:

The environment of political risk and uncertainty has inhibited investors from making large scale energy or industrial investments.

They totally ignore the huge sums of humanitarian and development funds that have been funneled off into weapons purchases and the construction of an underground tunnel system built for the purposes of infiltrating into Israel and kidnapping Israelis or just outright killing them. But, of course, one must blame the monopoly of the Israeli electric company that “affects the cost of electricity, and leads to electricity shortages” and:

…the critical situation in this region, the siege imposed and the growing need for alternative sources of energy have become urgent concerns. Such urgency is highlighted by the continued interruption of electric power and fuel supply.

Some academics, it seems, have an unwritten rule not to refer to Israel unless they can accuse her of some wrong. Furthermore, in order not to offend their delicate souls, they actually turned Israel into Palestine and Ashdod became a Palestinian city. In case the reader is totally geographically ignorant, the authors included a map: The problem is that students and other scientists who come across this article may not be savvy about the propaganda ploy and may even believe that Ashdod, along with every other city in Israel, are really Palestinian. And that can only mean one thing, right? That Israel is a colonial foreign occupational force that has stolen land from the “Palestinian” victims of Jews. After all, even an American Congresswoman makes a similar statement on the walls of her office:

When people are inundated with messages, from supposed authority figures in politics and academia, that replace Israel with Palestine, they are being subtly brainwashed into believing that Israel has no right to exist.
