Kedar

Last night Dr Mordechai Kedar gave a brief Zoom talk in Hebrew about what is behind the current hostilities within Israel between Arabs and Jews from the Arab side. He said that the only thing we can call this is "jihad". To think that this is anything but jihad is not to understand Islam and the Moslems. Just as there are Jews who do not ascribe to strict Jewish Law, so there are Moslems who do not ascribe to jihad and the law that once a land is under Islam it must forever be under Islam. But we must understand that jihad is what lies beneath the violence against us both within Israel and from outside - Gaza right now.
 
According to this concept, the best that can be hoped for is for Israel to be stronger and make it clear to the Arabs, within and without, that we are ruling this land now. Then they will "temporarily" be willing to normalize relations with us as they mark time until which point we will show signs of being weak enough
